Batoche 2022 A Metis Gathering

Being Metis in Banff is not always easy. There are not a lot of us in Banff to start with. In fact Banff booted out all the indigenous peoples so that white peoples would have a place to live and visit. I should mention that Banff is an amazing place. I think things are changing rapidly.

Batoche is located in East central Saskatchewan, about an hours drive north of Saskatoon. It takes us about 8 hours to drive from Banff. In 2023 this would be my second trip to Batoche. First time I was about 5 so I didn't remember to much about it. My cousin Finn was there. He lives not to far away in a town called Outlook.
